X-board is a new generation composite fibre board with exceptionally high strength-to-weight ratio. Its closed-cell honeycomb core is manufactured from recycled kraft papers and organic adhesives, making up to approx 92%. And in addition X-Board is 97% recyclable material, environmentally friendly in all aspects.

Sandwiched between two layers of ink receptive, acid-free recycled white paper, Xboard is disposed of after its useful life in paper recycling bins or cardboard compactors, rather than being dumped as toxic landfill, where most other substrates end up.

X-board is amazingly versatile in that it can be large-format printed and laminated, with permanent and temporary prints. Panels can be mitre-cut, then folded or curved, or cut into shapes and inter-locking pieces, offering users an endless array of sustainable design opportunities. For simple cuts a heavy duty Stanley-type knife, panel saw, jigsaw or vertical foam trimmer may be used.  For production runs of custom cut shapes, X-Board is best cut using a CNC router or flatbed digital cutting table with oscillating knife. X-Board can be double-mitre cut leaving its semi-rigid paper-liner intact on one edge, allowing panels to be folded to most angles. A colour range of black and white protective edge-banding materials is available, generally applied using a hand-held, hot melt glue gun. This gives a cosmetic finish for applications where a polished look is desired. This conceals the honeycomb centre, leaving observers unrenowned to the fact recycled papers and bagasse was used in it’s construction.

Creative, sustainable applications include but not exclusive to :

* Structural, flat-packed, point-of-purchase displays
* Inkjet printed office screens, bookshelves and promotional event furniture
* Semi-permanent exhibition booth and display plinths
* Lightweight bulkheads and architectural column cladding
