Where is X-Board made?
X-Board manufacturing plant is located in Cape Town South Africa. Plans are, when consumer volume increases in the Australian marketplace, for a production plant to be put in place in Australia.
What is X-Board made from?
Recycled kraft papers and organic adhesives, bagasse. Creating a volatile organic component (VOC) free board weighing approximately seven times less than medium density fibreboard (MDF).
Has R&D been performed extensively on X-Board?
Yes it has. This product has met with the highest international standards and development continues into the product.
Is X-Board water-proof?
Whilst X-Board is not water-proof, it is indirectly water resistant under the elements. The product does absorb water due to its make-up but holds its physical properties. Submerging X-Board into water and then allowing drying time has shown the honey-comb centre keeps the boards shape with minimum warping.
What fire rating does X-Board have? I am concerned I will not be able to use this product in an exhibition situation.
X-Board has a class 4 fire rating which is accepted in all exhibition situations and household environments as well.
We know X-Board is a “green product” but what about carbon pollution from shipping?
Offset emissions are in place, per shipment of X-Board by approx $75
Can you edge X-Board?
Yes, plastic edging can be used to for that cosmetic look. Can be applied with a simple hand-held hot glue gun, available in black and white and not only useful in the looks department but protects and shields the edges from bumps and knocks.
What routers are used in the production of X-Board items?
CNC routers with an oscillation blade.
